M&E Leeds Ltd were appointed by Absolute Contract Interiors to look at the basement area of Flannels on Vicar Lane as a potential location for the new 'Man Behind the Curtain' Restaurant, which was at the time located in the Attic space.

The space was a bit of a mess, run down, dark and damp, but with little option for the Restaurants prestigious owner, Michael O'Hare and time running out - he had to work with it. The programme was tight, but had to be met, as Michael's Michelin Star was at risk and with customers booked in he obviously didn't want to dissapoint.

We firstly had to complete various Health & Safety plans for Fire Detection/Alarm & Emergency Lighting Routes, to be signed off by the Landlord before any other aspects could commence. Once these were approved we had a team of 6 Electricians running the large amount of power required for the complex Kitchen System that was to be installed. Along with installing the Lighting, Electric Heaters and Fire Detection. We also had 2 Plumbers piping the Water Services and Drainage routes to Kitchen Areas, Wash Rooms and Restrooms. Ventilation to the Restrooms was supplied by Kelvin Air who did a great job and carried out the work quickly as required.

The end result looks amazing and we are thankful to be part of such a major project for Leeds City Centre, Absolute Contract Interiors and Michael O'Hare.
